Just an idea for someone with time and a wrecking yard.

Speaking of school buses, I saw a school bus that had the rear part chopped and raised so a super stock tractor could be pulled in there and the front part was kind of set up like a camper. It would have fit right in with that rig.

Yep, I've seen several old buses set up as haulers for various pieces of racing/recreational equipment. You can buy 'em dirt cheap and they are plenty strong to carry whatever you might need to carry although they tend to be underpowered and geared to run slow. Even if you cut half the body off there's still room for a couple of bunks. Not as cool as a toterhome, but it gets the job done.

That reminds me of the old Checker airport limos that had four doors on each side. I don't think it's photoshopped, it would probably look a lot better if it was! Looks like he just took a U-haul truck and moved the axle back. That thing has a way longer base than a school bus, it's probably borderline undriveable.
Retired school buses really do pretty much go to waste. After a certain mileage/age school districts won't allow them to be used for students anymore, regardless of their condition, so there's a glut of them which is a perfectly good bus will sell for less than scrap price. They're generally way more heavy duty than they need to be, too. My favorite modification was a guy who'd cut the back cap off, moved it all the way up to the front, but left the sides of the body below the windows and used it as a cattle hauler.
