I'd like to introduce RAE....

....and RAE stands for, Ruff Around Edges....

I just drove him home today from Kamloops...about a 3 1/2 hours from my place. I went up a checked the it out last weekend, liked what I saw and bought it.

So without further ado....

This truck was for sale here on the DTR. I've been looking for a 1st Gen diesel crewcab for a while and when I saw this it I had to check it out.

It's a 84 Dodge Crewcab long box, D350 1ton. Has a 89 Cummins with a 96 NV4500 and a set of 3:54 gears. I drove 210miles and didn't even use 1/4 tank of fuel, and that was over the extreme mountain passes too boot!!

Lots of work to get it to where I want it but at least I can drive and enjoy it while working on it.

Way to go! Looks like a good solid truck and it even has the rear door crack going - must be like that from the factory, along with rust in the roof!! Scouts also came from the factory with rust for free.

Is that crack common on the 1st gen crewcabs? It's a very odd place for a crack IMO.

That is sweet. Maybe I can see it up close when we visit our cousins on Abbotsford this summer. Eric

The crack is proof it is a real back door. Yup. It's common.

Yep, most of them have it. If you pull on the door handle with the door closed you'll see it flex there. I'm thinking of epoxying another layer of sheet-metal behind the handle inside the door and welding in some sheet-metal under the crack before welding up the crack itself - or something like that!

what is this crack you all speak of?? I can't see it in the pic , I haven't seen any cracks in my '72 and it is the oldest most used up truck possible.

Why do you call your truck a "he"? Trucks that big and boats are always "she"!

Nick, that's cuz your truck is made from genuine 'merican steel, none of that imported cr@p. I dunno.
