I really need your help here gentlemen!!
I have a 1992 3/4 ton extended cab I am going to pull soon. The stock drive shaft looks small to me. Do you know if the drive shaft on a 1 ton is bigger/stronger? I am trying to avoid the expense of having custom shafts built. Any information/advise/help/suggestions that you have will be greatly appreciated!

The rear shafts are the same on the 3/4 and 1 ton. If you have a 4x4 you can do like I did and put the same size in the front. all you need is a yoke and seal from the rearend and put it on the front the 60 and 70 use the same splines for the yoke. The yoke and seal off of the rear output on the 205 will all fit on the front. Then take a rear drive shaft and have it cut down to fit. I have pulled like that many times and it has worked great. Plus no CV joint.

'89-'90 non i/c trucks have a 4" diameter driveshaft! you'll find those on 4x4's and 2x4's alike in those years.

Is that true non-ic are 4" diameter. My 92 rear is only 3".
The front yoke is a tiny 7260 and the cv is a tad smaller than a 1350.
From what I've learned 93 front yoke is 7290 (close to a 1350).

Chrysler played with driveshaft diameters around 91 or so. The old style were 4" dia. but the walls were thinner. The smaller diameter ones found in 92-93 are 3" but have a thicker wall. At least that's what my guy told me. It's been awhile for specifics.Any driveshaft shop could probably build what you want, stronger for under $500. Knowledeable shops can shed light on the tubing size-change story and what is best. Mine did.
