Yeah I'm thinking I will do a black pearl and then about a foot from the bottom undercoat. It's not really a beater

Oops! I may have wrongly stated. I know black CHERRY is purple in the sunshine. Maybe not black pearl. Sorry. Flat black looks great I think

Black pearl isn't purple, or at least it shouldn't be! However, it IS extremely hard to notice the pearl in the paint unless the light hits it just right. There are a couple of manufacturers that produce a black "crystal" which has slightly larger particles and is a bit more noticeable.

Check out tcpglobal.com - specifically the Auto Air Colors and Wicked series of paints. They are a water based paint, which has it's pro's and con's, but I've had good luck with it. I used their airbrush paint on the tailgate below and had really good luck with it.

Hope that helps!

I use omni or shopline both are PPG paint. I have had great luck with both. JUst taking a guess 250.00 for both base and clear with omni or shopline but its been a little while since I bought a gallon of auto paint.

Paint has gone nuts. I was originally thinking of red for this car, but the red was 75.00 more. As it is, it's taking me 2 gallons to do a complete color change on this.. . . This sucker is BIG!

Took a quart just to do the inside of the trunk! Even that was a fair job. (Picture previous page)

And to think I have 4 more C Bodies to paint.
