How Long should I expect it to take to swap it out, throwout bearing and all? I'm going to drive my truck home (700 miles), pick things up and while I'm there I want to do it if I have time. me and my dad have done lots of ford clutches but never a diesel.

whoops, i read that post and intended to reply. musta fallen asleep at the keyboard .
i'd allot yourself a full day considering you don't wanna be in a hurry and forget something or forget to tighten an important nut or bolt. overall it might end up taking half the day. pulling the trans is pretty quick and simple. a lift and a trans jack makes it even easier on your body too . you might consider replacing the rear main seal while your in there just for good measure. sure would be a downer if yours starts to leak a week after you put the new clutch in.

Ok thanks. It looks as simple as any other clutch ive installed except the flywheel weighs more than my old lady.
anyone whos installed one of these... did you need a starter spacer? i thought you needed one but the sales man from SBC said i didnt. The double disk needs one and the Valair clutch that another member has needed on too. i figured id wait until i got it before i asked but i just picked it up from UPS and theres nothing in there like that. i dont want to install it and then not be able to start the truck once im done.

in my case i needed the starter spacer for the stock flywheel cuz it's an nv5600 from a 2001 truck. the dual disc and nv5600 (not sure about the nv4500) flywheels' ring gear sits a little further forward. hence, the use of the 3/4" spacer. i don't know why it's like that even for the single discs in the nv5600.

Oh and that clutch is 100% identical looking to the 6 speed valair setup i got.....the same width of material and everything...same hub.
you don't need a starter spacer unless you're upgrading to the 6 speed flywheel like i did. the teeth are one the inside instead of the on the inside like a 1st gen...

It might have cost you an arm and a leg, JBradley500, but it sure is purdy! Maybe a before and after pic in 10 years when you've put 200k on it.

that's the other reason i like SB. Peter is a cool guy and seems to have answers for anything you throw at him. customer service/relations is a big part of a business' reputation! hence, why SB is one of the top recommended clutch companies throughout the diesel community. not to mention, a good product!
