I had a Mitchell gear splitter but it went kaput and there was no way to get parts from the manufacturer to repair it. So I had it removed and a shop built a new driveshaft for the truck. It works great, but now the speedometer needle displays exactly double whatever my real speed is. The odometer is rolling along like crazy too.

My guess is the little box at the tranny where the speedo cable goes in (like my technical terminology?) had the little gears changed to accommodate the splitter and need to be swapped back?

Is this a Getrag truck? It should have an angle-drive ratio reducer between the trans and the electric transducer.

Mine is a GetRag 360 and it was missing the reducer when I got it. The speedometer ran in reverse. I found one on the internet and it reduces as well as reverses.

Indeed, it has the Getrag 360. I'm going to have to crawl under and see if I can dig out the ratio reducer and report back.
