I am trying to make an injector removal tool

I am trying to make a tool like the one that is in the sticky. I have ran into a snag. Is there a difference in the I/C and non I/C injectors? The nut on my pods I just got are not removable like the ones that I see in the pics in the sticky. I got 3/4" pipe and 1" pipe and the nut will not fit into either pipe. In the pics it looks like while the injectors are in the head that the nut will come off but my pods that I just got the nut will only come off towards the injector tips. I am not sure what is going on here.

I looked at the injectors in my truck and the nut will come off. The pods are different as the nut won't come off the top of the injector. I am just going to get a pipe that will fit over the nut on the pods so I can get them out later.

I use a slide hammer to pull injectors, just weld a metric nut to one that fits your slide hammer.

Mine is a little 2 lb unit from the parts store. It's just short enough to do #6.

Funny, I never pulled the injectors on mine except #1 and it had a bath of antisize around it. Pulled it with one hand.

I could never get that lucky. Should I put anti seize on the new ones when I put them in?

I went to the steel yard and got a piece of tube that just fits over the nut on the pods. Now all I have to do is weld it all together.

I used some pvc pipe, a washer, and the supplied nut. I thought about making up a steel version, but then I thought, how often do I plan to do this?
