hx40 question

hx40 question

what does it take to bolt up a hx40 on a stock setup? and what are the differences as far as size and benefits? i am stock right now and want to start the upgrades. but when i was trying to read all of the posts using the search option i didnt find a single answer......and it left me with more questions--so i started this to try and get a def. answer. thanks in adance

Make sure you get one made for a T3 manifold. T3 is the bolt spacing on the manifold. A majority of 40's are T4. You'll also need a 4" down pipe. Factory is only 3". Other than that they bolt right up. The other thing to look at is exhaust housing size. You'll want to use on with a 16cm housing. Anything bigger and it'll be a laggy pig.
I'd recomend getting a super hx40. They move more air then and standard 40. I had one in a twins setup and it was a good turbo.

hey-Hey!!!,
If y'all will pardon the hijack...is it possible to put an 8-blade compressor on a Super 40? I don't think I'll need that much flow and the higher efficiency of the 8-blade is attractive...expecially combined with the bigger turbine wheel mated to a 16 cm housing.

has anyone had any experience with the ones they are selling on ebay for like 300.00? they are some chinese made thing....kinda scares me to think that they can make one that cheap.
