HVAC Box Question
I remembersing seeing a thread about how to access the box under the glove box by using a hole saw bit and I cant find it. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

I used a sharp scratch awl and a straightedge to start cuts on three sides of a 6-inch square. The plastic is soft so a sharp awl will cut a nice deep groove. I then completed the three cuts using a utility knife with a new blade. I was surprised at how straight and clean the cuts turned out.
By leaving the fourth side of the square uncut, I was able to flex the plastic "door" open, clean out a massive amount of debris (leaves and pine needles), push the door shut, and seal the three cuts with clear caulk. The cuts are almost completely imperceptible.
Using a hole saw means you will have to find yourself a plug to fill the hole.

Door
Yea the thread I was reffering to the guy used the whole saw and then bought a firewall plug from parts store that was the exact fit. Looked really easy and clean finish. He had some exact dimensions I was looking for though. Your way sounds pretty easy and clean too. May just try it if I cant find his. Thanks You.

I think that is the recirculate (Max A/C) / fresh air door, you're referring to. Selecting whether to recirculate the air in the cab or pull fresh air from outside. It should open / close selecting between max A/C and and regular (vehicle running of course, as it is vacuum operated).

Did mine
I did mine the other day. I Have no marine shop anywhere around. I Have pictures I posted of it on the other thread. What I did but someone will say that's not right but dont care. Went to ace hardware bought a 4inch toilet mounting flange with the metal ring. Cut the plastic flange off The back left the center in painted It black. Had a ram head that i cut out of my center caps and stuck it in the center you look at it cant tell what is was from. The hole i cut did not have a hole saw so i took a utility razor blade clamped it in vise grips took my torch for pluming heated the razor blade till it was hot then cut the plastic. You can only go about 1 to 2 inches at a time till you have to heat the blade again. It cut the plastic like was butter. Be very careful not only can cut you real bad but can burn you at same time.Had water hose there so I didn't burn my truck up. Cost 4.95
