htt upgrade
htt upgrade
well im planning on doing this in the near future and was wondering that since my truck on flat ground runs around 35ishlbs of boost will the htt upgrade give me over 45lbs of boost?
Have you considered the GDS 60mm Upgrade? From what I understand its about the same thing for about half the price. I really didn't see any gain in boost after this install but it sounds much cooler. EGT's are a bit cooler too.

The GDS kit is alot cheaper. and its the same thing basicly.
I don't even think HTT makes the 60mm kit anymore, just go GDS. > click http://www.gillettdiesel.com/H1upgra...wheel60mm.aspx
And its really not outta stock, you gotta call them.
35lbs. of boost is perfect. anymore than that and your blowing hot air. the 60mm kit will probably lower boost a little bit and it will run cooler egt's. and it'll sound awesome and it won't ever bark because of the map slot in the comp. housing. barking the turbo is bad

The HTT stage 4 is a little better than the GDS. It has the 6 blade 60mm wheel. It also requires the backing plate for the compressor side to be machined. Basically the O.D. of the wheel is a little bigger.
The HTT stage 3 and the GDS 60mm are the same thing.
I recently changed from an 8 blade 60mm H1C to the 6 blade HX40, and I think the whistle is about the same. The main thing is the 6 blade is supposed to be more efficient, so you could run more boost.
My hybrid would still surge very slighty and would bark. I had the 12cm though, and too much bottom end fueling.

Speaking as someone with an HTT stage IV, I would not do it again. It's not that much better than the Stage III/GDS 60. The extra money would have been better used towards a bigger turbo instead of a barely better hybrid. I do think the Stage III/GDS 60 setup is a great upgrade in terms of bang for the buck.
