Htt Stg3 Vs Stg4

Is it worth the ex hundred bucks ? I've got a HX40 and a 2nd gen 4in dp, and the turbo only needs a new comp wheel priced for 130 bucks from HTT .So which do I put on the htt kit , or put on the HX40 with a new comp wheel ?

You don't have enough fuel for the HX40 yet. Since you have a HX40 sitting around, I wouldn't spend the money for the Stage IV. When you outgrow the Stage III you can put the HX40 on.

It needs a new backing plate because the exducer on the compressor wheel on the stage 4 is bigger. The new backing plate has been machined to fit the bigger wheel. Also, the inducer on the stage 4 is a 6 blade vs. 8 blade of the stage 3. it's supposedly more efficient.

Not really. I have a Stage IV and I wish I'd saved the money for a bigger turbo. It's not that it's a bad turbo, it's just that I simply have too much fuel for it.

For a guy with stock injectors or 190's, a hybrid is fine. For a play truck on a budget, POD's and a hybrid are fine - just don't try to use all that power to tow a fiver up a mountain.

How is that 2nd gen downpipe going to fit? I just put one of Rip's 4" 1st gen downpipes in on a HTB2, had to cut 5/8" to move it forward alittle more, tight, but isn't hitting/rubbing anything.

I plan to try an HTB2. The 62/12 version.

Big injectors and some cool air. You need to look into an intercooler or air to water aftercooler if you want to make big HP.

not really looking to make big power because it's my daily driver and I tow my race truck with it but I did pick up some isspro gauges from a friend yesterday for free and I hooked up the boost gauge at wot it's making 36psi of boost in over drive it seems high for the little h1c what do you think?

That is a little high. Bump the timing 1/8", that'll drop the boost down closer to good side of 30.

i was woanering if i should go with the stage 3 or 4 i am planning to have my pump rebiult here quickly and wandered if it would be a good idea to put a 3200 ogv spring in and a smaller exhaust housing on too? i was going to have the pump shop do some tweekink on it, the guy told me he could make the first gens run pretty waspy, but i was wandering if the fuel mods with air would allow me to still pull simi heavy loads with a safe egt

It looks like you have some pretty hot injectors. You may have enough fuel to light a bigger turbo. What kind of EGT have you been seeing?

well my probe is after the turbo, i plan to move it to the manifold, i had put it there from working on trucks and tractors, but on occasions (before my pump started to leak) i would see an 850* would you think i have a 21cm housing with almost a 4 sec spool up when floored
