HTT Stg III Sound clips?

OK, several of you are using the Stg III compressor upgrade and talk about the "jet engine sound" that you get from it. Does anyone have a video clip or sound file so I could here what they sound like? I now know what some large turbos, such as the Industrial Injection Phat Shafts, sound like and would like to see if the Stg III sounds anywhere near as awesome. By the way, the diesel drags are absolutely amazing!!! We had a single turboed and NOS'd 3rd gen run in the 11.50s and a twin turboed 98 12v run 11.90s!!

Hey man, I'll try to get you something today.

I've been wanting to get a vid of the boost and sound when the W/M kicks-in anyway. I will do a before and after (with W/M off and then on) and post the one without W/M here. Give me a few hours though.

Thanks Justin. I will check later today - I just came in from doing the u-joint swap on my steering. What a huge difference vs the piece of junk stock coupler. Anyways, back out I go to do some more.

Yo!

65mph Floored (slowly) Without W/M

For comparisons sake...

65mph Floored (slowly) With W/M @ 15psi (notice the louder sound and jump from 17psi to 25psi)

Neither of these vids really do the turbo sound justice. It's much louder and jet-like sounding in person. I think maybe the microphone was pointed away from the noise source since I had it aimed at the boost gauge. In the 2nd one I really floored it slowly until it hit 15-17psi, then I held it there so you could see the boost jump from the W/M, then I finished flooring it once it peaked at around 25psi.

Here's another where I just gave it some throttle at 65-70mph on and off to try and catch the turbo sounds a little better...

65-70mph On and Off Throttle

While we're at it, how about a little smoke for the neighbors ...

Quick Power Brake in Driveway

Sorry if I went overboard with all the vids.

Sounds good! You need a 60 psi boost gauge now - you are hitting 40 psi easy on the water/meth, probably more than that.

Nice videos. I've tried taking video of the sound of my dad's 05 (62mm compressor, no silencer ring) on our digital camera, the microphone just doesn't seem to pick up those really high frequency sounds. Maybe a higher quality mic would help?

Oh, and I now have an HTT Stage IV on the way.

Thanks guys!

You're right about the mic not picking it up, gman. I'm sure it doesn't sound anything like a Phat Shaft or TT setup running 11's , but it's a heck of a lot louder and cooler sounding than stock. It even whistles at 0psi while coasting down a hill!

No...please...not more than 40.

It probably is around 42-43, but I can reduce that to 40 or just under with a little more water. I'm still running the same tank of 55%/45% but plan on going down to around 35% meth on the next tank. I guess I'll have to give in and buy a WG'ed housing someday soon.

Thanks Justin! Those were exactly what I was looking for! Definitely a lot more whistle than stock. I have to get priorities in check after going to the drags and listening to those amazing machines - I caught myself contemplating selling my Jeep in order to build an 11 sec daily driver diesel. I think I need my head examined.

Does an HX35 with the silencer ring removed sound anything remotely close to those clips?

Through the wonders of modern science and some pirated NASA software I just did a Full Digital Matrix MRI Reference Scan of your head. Except for that one zit everything looks good. Sell the Jeep and break out the wrenches, you're cleared for takeoff!
