Hows $700 sound for this truck???
Too late
, we already got it.
93 D250 5spd non-LE, 3.54 rear, 350,000 miles.... it has BAD IP (i've tried everything to get it running.)...Valeo clutch w/about 100k on it. PO said he never touched the trans (he put 100k on it),,, it always shifted good
....its so clean underneath you could eat off it (no surface rust or anything!!)
Pretty solid (especially over the windshield 9/10*), Pretty straight too.
Somebody hand FIBERGLASSED the entire inside of the bed (was a seafood truck)...but fiberglassed right over the rust holes where the big refirigerator box was held in...

It has that cool factory bent shifter!! its so nice

see what all the salt/water did to the bumper...

I have a little trick for making the grilles look new..and bumper

Goal is-- Get it running (thats fun for me)... Se if its road worthy... if its not, sell it as a donor, if its pretty close to roadworthy...sell the 91 auto truck and make this his new daily beater, (my dad loves shifting gears for fun and double clutchin')
It cranks over really weird... I'm almost thinking the IP gear is stripped away and its not turning the IP...but with 350k who knows... the engine itself cranks normal, turns the fan but theres this weird sound coming from the IP area..and theres no fuel at the injectors...
So i'm gonna pull the timing cover, kill the KDP, get the IP off, check everything inside the timing case....put a good pump on it..new fuel filter... and go from there.... my plan is to use a rebuild 89 pump, put a 3200 spring in it on the bench....and swap the DV holders and ksb over from the 93 pump (but use the 89 DV's for more fuel)...Sounds like a good plan???
whaddya think ??? i think its safe to say my dad and i got the "cummins bug" (thats sad because i don't even have my license yet)

you guys are lucky. Around here people want $1800 for a truck that won't run, in unknown condition. And by that I mean nobody can tell for sure whether the tcase or tranny is good or not because the engine threw a crank bearing. The reason why is also unknown. What the guy explained when I talked to him sort of sounded like runaway but I actually had a look at the truck and the IP was untouched. I was sort of thinking maybe the fulcrum lever but I never checked the numbers on the IP ID plate. Oh and the cab above the windshield was REAL spongy (I probably could have put my finger straight through it) and there was also a thumb sized hole in the door well on the pass. side at the top.
In any case my point is this. Around here trucks are going for $1800 without an engine and a cab in pretty bad shape. Otherwise it looked good though. chassis was solid and suspension was good. Tires were decent. box was in decent shape etc.
Around here, if it runs and is in pretty much any shape you'll get over $4000 for it. It's totally stupid. Frustrating really, as you can see by my venting in here...
But congrats on that grab. With any luck you'll get her running with a new IP and be alright
haha nice!

I didn't tell you guys the best part.
The guy that sold it to us was the guy that bought our old 93 D250 from us a year ago....he saw it on the road for sale and called us and bought it that day because he LOVED this silver truck so much..he wanted another one....but didn't think it was worth it to fix the silver truck...so left it sit and bought the gold/red truck from US.. he was quoted $1400 for the IP change out and all for the silver truck and said no way......
So we told him, if you EVER go to sell that ole' truck of yours... let us know...(he told us the whole story when he bought the gold/red truck from us) ....sure enough 1 year later...we get a call..head to paulsboro (30mins).... get the title, pay the cash.... bring 'er home!!
This truck was the one we sold him, he loves it so much (still drives it everyday with the fridge in the bed) and we gave him such a good deal on it....the silver truck is what we got in return
,
sold this to him 1 year ago....
... he still loves it...wishes it had a 5spd though like his ole' truck did...he said he loved shiftin
