How to turn truck to stock???

Hi, I own a 89 W250 that I plan on hauling my tractor that is weighted to 7500 lbs with. The last person who owned the truck had turned the pump up quiet a bit. i already have put the AFC control back to stock, but I was wondering what else the owner might have done to it and what I have to do to turn it back to stock. The truck runs great, but it gets awful hot, awful quick....Thanks

More fuel = more heat. Power screw may be tampered with.

Im pretty sure that he did mess with the power screw on the pump. I usually let off when the pyro says 1200 but if i dont it will keep climbing. I never towed anything to heavy with it, just a few garden tractors amd a smaller ford tractor. I just dont want to burn it up with the heavy one behind it... Which one is the power screw? And how exactly do i turn it down?

"power screw adjustment".... id probably turn it back until just before idle doesnt seem smooth anymore. you just need to loosen the 13mm jam nut and then turn the power screw counterclockwise.

Should just upgrade ur turbo/ exhaust rather then detune it.

I know I enjoy the extra power when towing my antique tractors

Yea, i have a turbo off of a 06 that i plan on dropping in there, but i need a little bit more cash to put it in the truck. I have a 4 inch aftrer the downpipe with a banks muffler in it. I am waiting for the extra money before i do the turbo and the downpipe. Thank you for the replys, i think i am going to turn it down tonight, ill let you guys know how the boost and egs are. Well, Now i turned the power screw down on the pump about a turn and a half. I turned it down just about as far as i can go without turning the idle up on the truck. i turned the plastic wheel unnderneith the fuel pin up 1 turn (It was burried to the bottom) and i out the AFC back to stock. When I hit the truck hard coming up the road it still put out 25 pounds of boost and 1200* temps. Should I turn up the idle and keep going with the power screw or try something else? Thanks,

youll probably need to mess with idle screw and keep turning out the power screw to get it where you want it.

Yeah, bringing out the power screw is gonna be less fuel so you are going to have to turn up the idle. That seems to be what you are looking for.
