how to run 13s
how to run 13s
Hey guys i was really getting into the 94-98 12 valves but a cheaper first gen seems like the way to go. I had a small idea of what to mod first like turning up the pump, getting a 3200 gsk, 4" exhaust to a 5" stack, and of course the neccesary gauges (pyro and boost). Although this might cut a high 15 in the quarter mile so what else would you guys suggest to run high 13s like 13.8-13.9
all opinions welcome and thanks guys

sorry i cant answer your question, but i noticed you live in anaheim. im in HB. dont see too many first gens around here!
anywaym, you came to the right place and im sure someone who knows what they are talking about will sound off.
btw, i've yet to see a truck with stacks in socal. DO IT!

engineersedge.com has a horsepower calculator that is super easy to use and seems fairly realistic. you enter the vehicle weight and the 1/4 mile time that you want and it outputs flywheel and rear-wheel hp.
doesn't tell you how to make hp, but at least tells you how much it's going to take to get it done. also, shows the benefit of dropping pounds off the vehicle

. But I think a LSD or locker will be needed before getting anywhere near that fast.

A posi or locker is a must, I picked up 7 tenths by welding my rear end, and that was before the slicks.
How many 4x4 owners here have run their trucks in 4-wheel drive at the track?
I can't get any traction whatsoever if I try to build boost before launch. If I just mash the pedal without building any boost first I get traction but the lag kills me. I'm just wondering how much, if at all, the 4-wheel drive will slow it down towards the middle-end of the track?
