On my single cab I don't run a fan until I need the ac to work. I've only had the fan fully lock one time and that was headed to the stag shoot, I was late going up the 17, it locked about half way up the hill out of new river. It was like my breaks were pushed! So I had made the decision then it was getting electric fans. But as a side note my single cab never has anything hooked to the hitch, unless it is the only option and when it does I drive by the pyro. And coolant temp is the least if my worries.
