So has anyone actually swapped into an 80 and down crew? Everything on here is an 81 up. All the earlier trucks say "someday". I'm currently underway on my 79 crew dually. Making it 4wd as well. Curious about my firewall components and the clutch master cylinder. My electrical connector is way bigger than the 81 up trucks. But my clutch pedals are different too I think.

Also curious about my mechanical speedo

I know I haven't been on here in a while. To keep the list going you may all add yourself just copy the last edited version, add yourself, then paste and post.

It's basicly the same body so a swap should be fairly easy to do I think the biggest reason everyone does the 81 up crew's is the body work swap's over along with everything else heater n air system .but your right it would be Fun to do a early 1

Here's an early one..............

I built this '74 Short bed CC in the mid 90's. I put a complete 1 Ton '89 CTD 4X4 drive train in it (engine/trans/ transfer/ axels) added a gear vendor. I sold it in 1997/98 to a guy here in Ca. About five years after that the guy called and said he was selling the truck (I had told him to call me if he ever decided to sell it)

I looked at the truck but it was painted Yellow with all the polished aluminum covered with black bedliner material. I decided I didn't want to "re-do" the truck a second time and passed on buying it back. I have no idea where it may be now. Probably never should have sold it.

Saw this at the Home Depot by my house. I had seen it once or twice around here before. I didn't really check it out as I don't like checking out stranger's cars when they aren't around.

He has newer style cummins badges on the fenders so i ASSume it has a cummins in it.

Beside the rusted out floors,
The trans tunnel was smaller (gas)
we decided it was less pain-ful
to cut the cab and fix everything at once..

using a 93 LE Club cab,
gave us all the options the 73 didn't have

A/C, cruise, PW/PDL, even use the 93 dash..

working on the fuel system
cause we removed the tank from the cab,
also finishing the wiring
had to make the harness longer
cause of the four door (length)
and being a car hauler (30ft long) vs a club cab truck.
