How high can your EGT's go safely? Water/METH?

Im concerned about my EGT's after i put my 5X14 inj in my EGT are alot higher and im getting ready to drive cross country with 9-10k up and down hills in CA. Is water/meth injection something i should consider? Whats a good kit for 1st gens? Or should I just look for smaller inj's?
thanks

Hey what up and down hills in California you talking about?
some of the small ones like Cajon Pass or the Grapevine?

Are you intercooled?

What EGT's? You can turn down your power screw some to manage EGT's.

A lot depends on where your probe is. You lose several hundred degrees going through the turbo.

I just put relatively mild 7x10 sac injectors in a bone stock setup except for the 1/8" timing bump. Looks like I'll have to back out my power screw a tad to be civil.

Torque monsters they are. Cruise at 65, 2000 rpm pulling the train in Od at about half throttle.

Hitting 1000 on some grades is not bad at all? I think a max of 1200 F sustained is acceptable.

What turbo do you have?

I like Cooling Mist's kit for water injection, as they have a progressive controller.

I'll say this one last time.
1000 degrees at the manifold is very tame.
1000 degrees after the turbo is over the top.

20psi at 70 unloaded? Whats your max boost at wot?

Probably have to screw out your power screw some but that can be done on the road once loaded. See how it works and back it out as needed to keep the max egt at 1250 while climbing long grades.

I have 5x14's to put in mine but wont have them installed for some time.

you can stay @ 1250* as long as your radiator will keep up and your foot will control how hot you let it get. I run my 90 * 1250 till the rad cant take it my 01 I will hold 1300* all the way over the grapevine never an issue. it never gets hot and I have pulled that hill over I 8 more times then i can count . blew an intercooler boot about 1/4 mile from the summit boy that will get your attention !!
