The factory training video I linked to mentions the fact that it is a safety recall several times. The name of the video is Chrysler Customer Services Field Operations - Safety Recall 605.

I'll call Chrysler on Friday and see if they want to fix the issue, then the next stop can be NHSTA to make the complaint.

I missed out on this deal, my pump is #170. One of the first pumps off the assembly line with the "updated part" I guess. lol A new pump would have been nice though.

Wow, congrats. I only got one recall on mine. Wonder what else they botched but didn't bother to recall.

I used to work for a dealer and from past expierence complain to Chrysler. You are most likely to get the results your looking for.

Doesnt matter, the safety recall has nothing to do with the adjustments, its due to a poorly manufactured internal part.

You are a candidate only if you have a date code 163-169. If the data plate or the remanufactured Parts Data tag have an infinity symbol - then they are not eligible. The manufacture date of the pump was March to September 1991.

The location for the date code is shown in the previous post where Rick 12v CTD has a pump that has a code of 070.

Anyway, take a look. just remember that not all pumps for the year are eligible.

It's a likely candidate, check the date code like the TSB says.

Thumbs up

Well my pump went out on my truck a while back and i replaced it with a pump off of a water pump engine from a ranch to get me by until i could afford one . So last nite i put my old pump back on that doesnt even run and towed my truck to the dealer today and they took it in there shop with open arms. They told me they werent going to charge me a penny and they said that the pump and the steering wheel anti-separation plate that it was recalled for was going to be ready next week sometime. So im pretty stoked about this happening. I guess good things come to you if you wait.
