Exclamation How can I fix this?

A friend of mine has a leaky axle housing on his first gen. We tried putting a sleeve on it, but it's still leaking....it's pitted on the outside against the seal...What in the world can I do about this?

Can you drive the seal to a different depth so the seal runs on a smooth surface? I've done this in some applications.

I'm not sure...I will tell him about the sealant...I don't know about driving the seal to a different depth...as to the axle vent, I'll have him check that too.
Thanks for the ideas, and keep'em coming!
