I'm stranded in OK City, can I fix this myself. P code's

I'm taking a load of car's from Chicago to California. Truck's broke down in OK City. The dealer can't get me in until Friday, wich mean's fixed until Monday or Tuesday. I'm really screwed if it takes that long.

It's showing p code's 0341 camshaft position sensor, and 0652 low voltage at the #1 sensor supply circuit.

I can buy the sensor for $30. Is this something I can change myself and be on my way, or should I let the dealer do it under warrenty. I really can't afford to spend the week end here.

The sensor is an easy fix. However, the design of the 04.5 and newer OEM computer can result in the rig losing its brains during the replacement procedure, and you will still have to visit your dealer.

If there is a Cummins Service Center handy, they can also replace the sensor, and will not lose the OEM program.

Good luck,

For a minor fix like that sensor c/o, tell Service Manager directly the need to get your unit in asap. Explain your situation to him in a calm way, if he refuses, go to General Manager, and explain to him your situation in a calm way also. Chances are you will be in there in the next open bay.

As a Service Manager(heavy equipment), I have and will bend over backwards to help a customer who is not swearing, yelling at me or my staff. If they do and won't calm down or listen to reason, I make them wait- it's that simple. Hopefully this is not the case. Go try again.

Bad Ramer,
Are you running some type of performance box? If so remove the box, if not I would check the connectors at the cam position sensor and the crankshaft sensor. The cam sensor is located under the injector pump mounted on the backside of the timing cover. The crank sensor is down next to the harmonic balancer on the drivers side.
