Hit 369.8 RWHP
I ran the old girl at the annual Idaho dyno day in Meridian ID on 5/15/04 and hit 369.8 RWHP - not too shabby for a "slightly" modified 1'st Gen.
Thanks to Muddy and all the others that made this years event a success.

Nice numbers Bob are you guys going up to Piers on July 31st. That will be the day I will find out where I am at with my latest mods.
jiMMyCTD there is some of us heading up from California we are going to try to meet up on I 5 somewhere to start a train of first gens up to Piers. Didnt know if you are going, but just thought I would mention it to you.
Pm me if you guys are interested. Well at least jiMMyCTd/ Bob you have a lot less drive if you can make it. I will probably stay in Portland on the way up to try to break up the long drive.

I'm not really planning on going up to Piers in July although I would really like to. I want to attend his Dyno Mania day and can only stomach the US "Authorities" coming back into the US once a year.

Excellent numbers.
Tell me about this 230 HP pump, is that something you can buy or is it a special built unit? Do you know what is different compared to a stock pump?
Is your turbo Wastegated?
I have been told I should be near 300HP.
I have The old smokey power pin now and an H1C with and HX40 compressor wheel.
I would like to go to Piers but its over 1500 miles. Do you think the "authorities" would like the hand gun under my seat?

Pump was built and installed by Wentland Disesl in Milton-Treewater OR. They set it at 15% plus and once the warranty was up I "tweaked" it some. Timing is set at about a day and a half advanced.
Turbo - cold side - is a Piers HX35 with the hot side a 14cm and is wastegated. The wastegate is currently set to be fully open at 30psi. Max PSI on 4 runs never exceded 28psi. Need to insure there no leaks the re-set the wastegate to 32 psi.
I am also running Old Smokys pin.
They wouldn't like my "carry" so I guess they might not like yours

That's to bad Bob. I figure it will be a better time going to the first gen day than a general dyno day. I bet they are both a real hoot. Heck if i lived in Portland I would at least try to go to both. Just giving you a bad time. I hope I can get somewhere close to the numbers you put out. Keep up the good work.
I have heard it is quite a bugger to get back and forth into Canada and the States.

The last I heard DD3+'s were about $1200 for a set. They are very streetable and will give you good power. They also run fairly cool and smoke less than POD's.

Hey, catch up Bob... I'm about 2 days advance right now....
Good numbers by the way....
Do you happen to know what your peak EGT's were on those runs????
Also what was your max RPM??

hey frostie, I'm curious what your dyno #'s are, I'm running a very similar set up. I'm dying to dyno mine. I'm shooting for 300/750
Btw, which hx40 compressor wheel are you running 58mm,60mm 8 blade(mine), or the 60mm 6 blade? just curious. Also, did you notice a big improvement with the old smokey pin??
Phil

last september I dynoed at Edge in Ogden Utah. My numbers were 237 HP and 679 LB FT of torque. At that time I had a stock H1C turbo with a nonwastegated 14 CM housing and stock fuel pin. I installed a modified H1C with a 60 MM HX40 compressor wheel. I dont know how many fins at this time, I cant find my paperwork and I dont feel like pulling my air intake off at 12:30 AM The turbo has a 16 CM exhaust housing now. That turbo made a huge difference in power and lowered my EGTs. shortly after I installed the old smokey power pin and the power was very noticable. I have been told and have read that the power pin increases 28 HP to the ground, I believe it. Im guessing Im near 290 HP to the ground. lots of people told me Im at 300 HP but I dont know for sure. I will dyno some time this year.
Hopefully I will dyno in Denver and at Edge again. I missed May maddness Oh well its just my work truck
Good luck.

if you had to machine the compressor backing plate then it's the 6 blade, if the backing plate was unmodified, and you just bolted on the wheel and new housing, then it's probably the 8 blade like mine. I may have to look in to one of those Ol' Smokey pins
