High idling

I need some help troubleshooting this issue. Yesterday I kicked the truck out of O/D and floored it up to about 3200 rpm. Ever since I did this the truck idles at 1200rpm and if I rev it up in Neutral the rpms hang. It doesn't try to runaway it just doesn't come back to idle unless I put it in gear. I went over the linkage and it doesn't seem to be sticking. What do the VE gurus have to say?

Did you try to physically push the throttle back to idle when it is high idling?

mine is irraticly idling as well...in the morning cold it sounds like its 200-300rpm less.....and when ambient goes up it increases by like 200 rpm.

possibility cold *** oil in the compressor when the defrost is on.. that changes my idle.

if the idle screw backs out the idle drops.

i think your pump needs work, brandon i bet that leaking afc has something to do with it.

check the little spring on the "hat" piece ..where the gov spring hooks too...

actually get another pump...

Try to get it to idle high then look and see if the linkage is touching the idle screw.

Idle screw is removed and linkage is returning all the way and resting against the pump.

The low idle screw is removed? How do you control the idle?

Ok I was wrong and thought I pulled the high and low idle screws but I only pulled the high. The low idle screw was only turned in flush to the pump body. So the high idle is from the idle screw rattling out a bit.
