Help, starting problem
Filled up with diesel this morning before driving 3 hours for my getrag. Stopped to get a drink a ways down the road. When I went to fire it back up, the truck just spun over on first crank (I let off quick, it usually just bump starts). Tried again, bump the key and fire right up. Did it again as I was leaving the guy's shop. Drove home, shut truck off. Tried it to see, did it again. Doesnt do it everytime. did it 3 times of 9 starts today.
Yup, happened to me too. Slow to start a couple of times, then was romping on it a bit on the freeway on-ramp. Lost all power, sputtered a couple of times, and died. Uh-oh! Popped the hood , shined a flashlight(it was about 10pm) on the pump, and hey, there's a wire off. It was a real loose fit, so I crimped it a bit to get home. Then switched the push on connector for an "O" type that goes under the nut. Been fine ever since.
Wire going to shutdown solenoid. Blue, I believe(it's pouring outside right now, and my truck won't fit under a 7' garage door...don't feel like getting soaked) On the back of the pump(firewall side) should have 2 male ends with the wire plugged into one of them.
