Ok guys i got outrun by a 91 dodge 5 speed with 410's today. we have got the same mods just pumps tweeked. But he has a 5 speed and i have a 3 speed auto mac. how can i get back to him.And i am the one that got him started in doing some bombing. Yes i no i need a overdrive or a 5 speed would help.

 

Tranny upgrades tranny upgrades tranny upgrades. Get you a good torque converter and an upgraded valve body. With mildly bombed trucks, the 5speed will almost always take a stock auto because the auto does such a poor job of putting the power to the ground. Once that part of the playing field is evend up, you'll prolly take him cause that sloppy old getrag won't shift quick enough to catch the auto. If he just outran you on top end, get the 3200 rpm gov. spring so you can wind her up for top speed.

Get a 3200 gov spring and you should be able to take him.
