Low Idle ajustment

So I wanted to drop my Idle a little more last nite, After I turned up the pump, I turned down the idle but she still semmed to Idle a little higher. I had to use pliers to turn the low Idle scew, mine does not have the scewdriver slot on the locnut side. Any way I could not thred in the last 1/4 of an inch or so due to the threds being galled from som idiot with pliers! So I losend the 10mm bolt( head size) on top of the trottle arm and ajusted the bracket. Is this ok!!!!! It worked, as far as I can tell it only moved the bracket that touches the low idle srew. dose this ajust somthing else as well? It sure semmed to have more power this morning, but I also found a leak in one of my inter cooler hoses and fixed that so I dont know if it was the ajustments or the fact it progebly has more boost?( no guage yet)

That bit of the linkage is indeed intended to get everything aligned. By making the turnbuckle/ball stud lever as short as possible and then using the adjustment you described to allow for low idle contact, you can be sure to get WOT---something you probably weren't getting before Play with the settings a bit to get a good feel for how they inter-relate. Good luck!

That is called the 'high idle' adjustment. Thread it all the way out---towards the firewall, then gently rotate the throttle as far as it will go---you'll feel it hit a stop inside the pump. This is NOT where you want the throttle to stop! Bring the high idle screw back in till it just hits the linkage while at it's 'internal' stop, then go a few more threads. This way, when you mash it from a light (which you will) you won't hit that internal stop (and potentially damage the pump) but rather, you'll hit the high idle screw, just a few threads on the safe side. Got it? It's easier than I made it sound, really
