Ok, I'm inserting a copy of an e-mail I received from a guy I met over the summer. He picked up this truck for $1500 right before I get there with the cash. His sig would read:
'93 d-350 club cab LE. 3.55 gears. Getrag. H1C/18. Cranked pump (but nary a puff of smoke when I drove it...though it was quick) His pump doesn't look too advanced, but it rattles like a 24v. the most fuel milage actual checked i get is 14.3 at 74 mph. i get max 300 miles on a tank of fuel. the boost is 7-8 lbs and exaust temp is775-825 depending on the air temp out side.. ive tried injector cleaner, atf running it and other additives... I took the boost valve /fuel rod and turned it back till it aggrevets me to drive it... i also turned the spring pressure up to elmitate the black smoke some what... but it gets enimick doggy boggy.. all oil leeks are fixed no drips any wheres... dry underneeth... also at 67-69mph the exaust temp is 675 -780 the boost is 4 1/2.. is the set up wrong? what is recomended???? I use the cruise controll mostly on long trips and drive conservitly... what is wrong????? 3:50s gear.
the traffic was heavy and i beat on it today leaving the tollboths on the 528 expressly tonight and i was running 23 lbs of bost 1225 exaust temp at 95 mph.
i seldom drive it that hard usaly 71-74sh it likes.. trans working Good put in a better grad of bearings from miller bearing works great... ''

Any idea on tire pressures? There's no reason the mileage should be that bad. I would try bumping the timing - engine noise can be deceiving.

I've tried, a couple times. He woulda taken 3k for it a couple months ago before he moved to Florida, but I couldn't come up with that kind of cash in short order...
