pump the lift pump and crack the bleed banjo bolt after the fuel filter. You may have to pump the starter a few times so the little cam in there isn't compressing it. If fuel comes out of the banjo bolt after pumping this (make sure to bump the starter SEVERAL separate times if you're having no resistance in the pump) it's not a bad LP.

I highly doubt it if it was a "running ok" to "not running at all".

Possibly the fuel shut off solenoid rubber shredded? IDK if that would make a no start situation.

YOu are getting 12 volts to the fuel shut off solenoid? Don't just make sure it's plugged in, check if there is juice going to it. Easy enough to run some alligator clips from the + terminal of the battery to the terminal of the FSS to check this and remove all doubt. I had an ignition switch problem that stopped juice going to the FSS to activate it. I drove home with a wire jumped to it from the battery.

Sometimes an easy check is to take the inlet hose off the lift pump and blow a little air back to the tank (try to keep it under like 30 psi). If you haven't replaced them yet, I think your truck is old enough to have the steel to rubber line set up going into the top of the tank -- a rusty crack there can cause an air leak that will do as you describe.
