Help???!!!

Well i had to fix the headlight switch plug because they cut it off. well i put the new one on the put a fuse in the lamp one and it worked fine. Until last night i went to drive to my buddys and it popped the fuse, now every one i put in it pops any ideas on what? it had a trailer light harness but i cut it out.

Get a bigger fuse? the number on the front of the fuse is the amp resistance. So a 10 amp fuse can only take 10 amps, any more amperage and it will blow. The PO of the truck may have put the wrong fuse in it and now thats what your going off of. Put like a 20 amp in there or something, And see if it pops right away.

If the end of one of the wires from the trailer harness came loose and found some metal to make contact with it would case fuses to blow like that.
I had a random wire do that on my old chev. I just cut off the extra and wrapped what was left with electrical tape. I never did figure out what the wire was actually for.

dont know the common places but i would check your tail lights and trailer wireing if you have any?
and see it the switch has any burnt looking marks on the plug

ok ill check the plug i just put it on this weekend old owner cut the one off and just put some female plugs and it had trailer wiring i cut it off to make sure no short and the same keeps happening
