heater question

Hey guys, i have a question about my heater. Ok, so when i push in the heat button, and put the fan lever on hi (or low) the blower motor does not work, the heat just eventually works its way out of the vent. Now, when i put the sliding dial onto the heat side, and push in the Max A/C button and put the fan on Hi, it blows out hot air really fast, and low and medium also work as they should. is this how everyones heat works?

Whenever any button besides off is push, the fan should run on the set speed. Does the fan work on other settings like defrost, norm ac, vent, etc? You might have a burned out button or something like that since the whole heater/fan control box is all electronic. If so I've seen them on ebay before.

yes, everything else works. the heat works with the lever turned to the right (heat side) and the max A/C button pushed in. is this normal?

Yes that is normal but I'm pretty sure that when either ac button is pushed the ac pump will run no matter where the temp slider is at. Having it at that setting the system is pretty much working against itself letting heat in and also running the ac pump. If it works with either the vent or defrost button pushed with the temp control on heat then you can run that way, if the heat button is not working properly.

You could always pull the AC relay to get you by until the switch is fixed.

Sounds like you have a bad contact in the switch assembly.

My high speed position for the fan does not work in any of the settings.... Too lazy to troubleshoot it though.

Could that actually be related to the mode settings though? I thought that a problem like that would have to be in the fan speed switch.

Well the mode switch has to send power through to the speed switch. Sounds like the fan contact on the head mode is bad to me.

Uh, no. Go to the junkyard and get another heater control panel. Gassers and Ramchargers used the same one.
