Head Light ugrade question?

I live 15 miles from town and can run bright lights 100% of the time and they still aren't great! Have any of you had any luck with any upgrades and if soo which are the best? Thanks for all the help!

Look in the Sticky- relay and bigger wire. Bulb design voltage is 13.2- you need that at the bulb. Make sure you add a fuse just incase the wire gets cut. Don't want to damage something.
YOu can replace seal beams with Euro replacement lights and run H-4 bulbs. Off road bulbs 100W/130W low/high are available. That will put more light down on the road-when properly adjusted.

I will second that.

SEALED BEAM Sylvania SilverStars, relays, along with big wire, including replacing the wimpy stock sockets at the back of the lights, and BIG grounds.

You will be amazed.

is there anyway i can get really bright white headlights without adding relays or changing out the wiring. I want a brighter than stock bulb that I can just simply exchange with the one on the truck.

No. The stock headlight wiring sucks. You probably only have 12 volts there with the engine running. Just doing the relays will make a huge improvement - it's amazing how much more light even cheap headlights will put out with 14 volts...

Of the two trucks that I have so far done, prior to changing anything, one had slightly less than 10-volts at the lights with engine running, and the other slightly over 10-volts.

After re-wiring, up-grading, and relays, both have over 14-volts at the lights.

The same can be accomplished by ignoring the factory switch and running BIG wire through a big toggle-switch, plus big grounds.

The relay just moves the switching out under the hood and allows the function of the factory switch to be kept.

A relay is not some magic miracle; it is merely a remotely triggered switch that can perform the make/break of the circuit no better than a plain old switch.

I second the relay conversion - works great. The only problem I have found is headlights last less than a year - usually the drivers side - but it is well worth the change over.

See my sig. The Hella conversion kit came with 55w low beams and 60w high beam element H4 bulbs. I exchanged them for the 55-100w and they work great.
