HE351CW vs ......S300 62/71/12

I'm trying to figure out if it's worth spending $1500 to upgrade, or will the HE351 be "adequate"

I don't foresee myself doing any more fueling upgrades at this point in time.

The top end of the 351 kind of bugs me though. It feels like its choked up past 30 psi. Or maybe that's just the VE running out of steam. I dunno.

Interested in your comments.

No way John.. Why do you think you need to upgrade if I may ask? Didn't you say the 351 is doing everything you need it to do, as far as keeping the EGT's cool.

Adding an ht3b or similar would be much cheaper.

I'm running the he351 and looking to step up to a budget twins setup in the future keeping the he351

Drive pressure at 30+ psi is starting to bother me I guess. No other reason really.

I'm not dedicated enough to step up to compounds. I don't really feel like having to remove the head, shipping it off, get it fire ringed, get better headstuds, etc. It would be awesome to have 2 turbos though.

Wheres that guy at that has two 62/71/14's on his first gens??

I know it would be a big step up, alot of guys on 1stgen.org say its the ultimate 1st gen turbo... and compare the measurements of the HE to to the S300 and its like WOW.

The Head what is your drive pressure at 30 psi of boost? I'm thinking the S300 is far superior but for the money and the mods you have your setup is good. Maybe you can find a deal on one and it won't be so bad.

$1500 more vs. what you have now which is working fine for you... I think I'd save the $1500 for somethin else...

I just have a question because your setup is nearly the same as mine. What are your boost and egts at WOT? As far as power mods the only difference between you and I is the fuel screw in, coolertubz and the lp plp

Also, if the he351 is doing it for you right now, dropping $1500 more on another turbo seems kinda pricey if you don't plan to put more power to the ground for now. I would stick with what you got and put the money to use on something else. Not that your trucks looks like it even needs anything else but you know, you could always save the money or go for a custom intercooler like BC did.

I hit 36 psi on mine. I dont think EGT's have ever passed 1400*F. And I dont know what the drive pressure is at 30 psi+, I have just read a few threads about the 3rd gen guys talking about DP's with this turbo.

Trust me, your good with that turbo on your 1st gen John. You'll blow a ton of money that you dont need too. My 04 with REVO TNT and a HE351 never got over 1000deg, and that was rowing the stick hard.
