No, the he341 has a smaller compressor wheel than you already have. It is a more efficient turbo and wastegated but you will be better off keeping what you have.

I like the HE341 better than a H1C with the GDS upgrade. It runs cooler and spools up faster. The whistle is quieter though.

You can find them for 200-250 all day long as well. If you can do the fab work yourself to install it, you can't beat it.

Just because it is smaller doesn't mean it's not as good. You have to remember his turbo is going on 19 years old. Turbo technology has advanced a lot since 1990.

Put it on there and along with the HE341 ADD A INTERCOOLER and see how you like it

Don't try to run 35/40 PSI of boost with the 341, cooler or not. The HE351 04.5 and later will support 450 towing HP. 341 will not, cooled or otherwise. 30 PSI of boost on the 341 is pushing it. If you would like to see what the 351 will do, go to the 3rd Gen forum here.

I'm thinking about upgrading as well. But it seems foolish for me to upgrade after having the 341 on for only 2 months, and it runs pretty cool right now, but I'm going to install the new transmission, TC, VB and flexplate soon as well as extend the full power screw so I can turn up the pump. It might not run so cool after all that is done.

You will like the 351 over the 341 if your going to turn it up..And the 351 can be used as the top turbo on a set of twins....
