...so you have to take advantage when you can.

I put it in 4L and 3rd gear and she just poured right through the yard.

I stayed in the neighborhood, though...I'll let the salt settle a little bit out there on the main roads before I drive again.

And I gotta tell you: This little Toro from 1986 kicked it's share of butt today. I'm proud of her.

Dog, that's a lot of snow... I'm glad I'm in Yuma. I'm in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt right now...

Good looking rig.

I have one of those snowblowers. Yours look a lot nicer then mine, and it probabably runs! That Tecumsah wont start and run for nothing, and I could really use it ATM.

Last year I couldn't get mine running. I went online and found a rebuild kit for the carb. Cleaned everything nicey-nice, replaced the tube for the primer, new float in the bowl and filled it with fuel mixed with Stabil.

This year, the first time I started it since last year, I primed it three times, turned the choke and it started immediately. Impressively quick, actually. I have something out of adjustment, though, as it runs best with the choke half open, even when warm.

This morning, I was using the thing and noticed I had to really push it along, and then all the sudden it had NO traction assistance...I took off the 6 bolts that hold the two covers over the belt/pulley housing and found a busted belt. $40 and two belts later, she's a beast. If the snow was 6 inches over the top, it'd still push right through.

I did shovel for about 15 minutes and decided it was NO fun at all.

In Nebraska it usually a good idea to have 4WD in the winter.

This was last year.

Made it through under my own power

Mine was free and has been "modified" a bunch. The primer was messed up, so it was removed, then the carb fell apart, so I swiped one off a push mower. Now it just wont run without ether. I am looking for a good Briggs to throw on it with electric start, so the wife can use it. Until then I will just go to the farm and get the Bobcat if I need to move a lot of snow. Besides, the kids like having a snow pile in the backyard!

I'm good buddy. I've done a little cold weather training, enough to know I don't want to play anymore... haha...

With the small engnines, I've found if I don't run it out of fuel (turn the fuel supply off and letting it run ouf of fuel) it'll screw the carb up. I have not had any problems with my small engines for a while since I started doing that.

Yeah, I like to let them run out of fuel, too. I've started to fog the motors at the end of the season, and use gas stabilizer on every fill up. Seems to really help...been doing that with the boat, too, and it seems to like it.

from my neck of the woods, my truck would be useless without 4 wheel drive. These old dodges do pretty well in the snow and mud though if you ask me, especially being a diesel. Looking at these pictures I want more snow though!

Hey Damon, I just got in clearing my dooryard with my old 86 Moto-4 chained up and my 83 Kubota. I love the old stuff! Simple!

Andrew, looks like you cheated, you runnin chains . My ol man used to go places in his 2wd F250 the 4x4 guys wouldn't cause he was always chained up and loaded with 500# or more of sand. I'd love to get a set of dually chains and singles for the front. Bet it's fun!
