Re:have lobing problem

Mine will do the same thing at times. Never really gave it much thought though! It did it before I put in my new injectors, (I also thought it may be due to a bad injector) But after I put in the P.O.D.'s it will still do it once in a great while. The best I could ever figure it may have something to do with fuel quality I was getting. I would like to see what others have to say on the topic!

Re:have lobing problem

Some of the things that come to mind when you have "Loping" sounds are fuel pressure to the injection pump, injection pump temps, idle speed.
The POD injector has been known to make a BIT of lope but usually due to idle speed too low, which seems to compound the effect/sound.
Personally I want an idle that is between 750-800 with the truck in gear (auto) and the AC on HIGH>...This helps prevent or reduce low oil pressure condition(s) and reduce the shakes you see when idle is too low.

Re:have lobing problem

I was kinda figuring that with the un-even cooling design of the head (hot spots), this would affect detonation at stock or low idle. Raising the idle would get the fluids moving and even out the cooling (both oil and water) of each cylinder, helping to even out the firing points.
