H1C PSI readings

I was wondering what everyone that is running a H1C is getting for boost numbers? Please state wether that you are running a stock or what upgrades you have done to the turbo. thanks

I have a 12cm housing with the WG welded shut and the mods listed below. I see 32psi only when loaded orpulling a hill. Only ever saw 29psi with the 16cm housing.

Completely stock turbo just a 16cm exh housing instead of 18. She will go up to about 37-38 mind you the pyro pegs before that happens

If I remember hearing correctly the stock H1C is only efficient to 21 psi....anything else is just wasted boost or it still flows the same volume of air or something like that. Is that correct or is the excess over and above 21 psi actually doing some good for the motor??

PS~By the way with my 16 cm housing i get 26 up here in the thin air.

With a stock H1C and a 14 nonW turbo I saw up to 37 PSI. 37 is too much for that turbo.
I think you can go over 21 though. Much over 30 and your fresh air housing starts produce heat.
I had an HX40 compressor wheel put in an H1C with a 16 housing and have seen 44 PSI.
If you are getting much over 30, and are still getting lots of smoke, then I would say its time for a bigger turbo and or bigger air charge cooler.
good luck

I stopped tweaking at 28psi. EGT's were getting ridiculous.

I see about 22 with a 16 cm housing, stock injectors, and mild pump tweaks.

42psi with a 12cm housing and H1C turbo. Way out of the efficency range of that turbo and it got very hot. Used to be able to peg the pyro in 4th gear on a full throttle run.

If you're seeing higher boost pressure in the manifold, it doesn't matter where it comes from except for temperature. I think the H1C may heat the air more than a bigger compressor and that may be the inefficient part. Hotter air is less dense even with a higher pressure. This is why an IC is so important even though you'll see less boost in the manifold it's denser air which is better.

I'm seeing 27 psi when I floor it in 5th from 65 mph unloaded. EGT's shoot up to 1500 and then the VE starts to defuel at about 2400 rpm and the boost backs off to 24.

Edwin
