Understand he is a busy guy, sometimes you can't get a hold of him right away.

I remember the fix they used a newer 47 case that has a different reverse band setup and swapped all of his internals into it.

He just plain knows trannies pretty well. I went through with him over the phone one time on a trans that had many problems and his help over the phone was outstanding. I know more about them today because of him.

If you decide to do the conversion, you might consider lockup. I had my tranny guy do the lockup in my 93 and I think it's a wise addition!

Mike on here (JD730) knows alot about First gen trannies as well and he can lead you in the right direction, He did a 47 swap in his truck. I met Mike in person and hes a genius.

edit- I just saw JD730 replied in this thread,

the reason Goerend's website is a little scary is becuase i'm sure he would rather be called up and talked to on the phone, alot of his stuff is custom made to your applicatin sometimes and does'nt just sit on the shelf waiting for a buyer, That is what he told my Dad on the phone.

Yep... I ordered mine last week. He has two options, they have different stators. One is $650 and one is $950. be 100% honest with him and he will sell you the one you need. He sold me the $650 one. The when i told him I was gonna buy the $950 one he talked me out of it. Even told me that Of I didn't like the $650 oen I could ship it back with the $300 difference and he would send the other. I told him great but pulling season does not start till April so I wont know for a while... Know what he said... His words were "oh I dont care if you have it for 5 years or more, when you decide you want to try the other one send that one back with $300" HOLY COW!!!

Also I asked hima bout the Warrenty, he said plain and simple... you break it I fix it... I said what about if I break an input shaft or grenade a flywheel and damage it? How much to fix it? He said... If it breaks or gets damaged... i WILL fix it... You cant beat that!
