Getrag Pressure Plate?

I am lacking a clutch to do the Getrag swap. I was going to run a South Bend but am thinking of a Valair for now, DD will be after this winter resto. My problem is, it doesn't seem like there are any good options for the Getrag at a decent price. They have ceramic button single disc for the Rag, but it also only carries a #2800 pressure plate. I'd like something like #3250 or #3400. Will a Getrag flywheel accept a NV4500 pressure plate? Since the truck is down for the Dana 80, I figured instead of having the driveshaft cut to keep the auto I'd do the tranny swap as well. Thanks for any help.

the stock flywheel needs the center bored out to accept the larger hub for the 2nd gen clutchs,
but alot of the SB clutchs come with new flywheels dont they?
the DD do

Well, the Valair clutches the only ones with a 13" clutch are a stock replacement, a 4 puck ceramic button, and the 12.25" to 13" upgrade for the NV. The trans I bought came with a new flywheel, but it's a getrag. I was just wondering if I could use a 13" conversion clutch without the conversion flywheel. So, since I don't have a place to do machine work for the stock flywheel, can I use an NV conversion on a getrag? Thanks for the help.

look down on this site http://crewcabcummins.blogspot.com/

thats a SB stock replacement 13inch with flywheel

the nv's and getrag have the same splines and input size unless the nv has been upgraded, and if you want to know the ZF ford 5speeds use the same input size and spline also

I'm trying to not buy a South Bend. I'm just trying to get the truck back up and running. I'm doing a Double Disc this winter.

As for the flywheel, I'm trying to find a decent 13" clutch that doesn't require me to buy yet another flywheel. I have a brand new one.

If I am reading this correct, you have a 13" flywheel, and want the rest of the 13" stuff? Just call up Valair and buy the disk, and pressure plate. Take the flywheel and have it smoothed, I dont know of any good trans shops down there, but find one you trust and take them the flywheel n tell em to freshen it up for ya.

And that question is one I would ask who ever you talk to at Valair as well.

Yeah, I guess I'll just call a couple clutch places. I have a new flywheel so I don't want another one.

All I really wanted to know is if I can bolt an NV4500 pressure plate to a Getrag flywheel. Will the bolts line up and everything work together?

Maybe I should be a little more clear. Can I put a NV4500 clutch KIT (clutch, pressure plate, through out bearing) in a Getrag without changing the flywheel?

If this is the case, I'll just by a 13" clutch for an NV4500.

I'd put a stock clutch back in it but I think I'd regret it.

When I bought my new clutch I was told that I couldn't use my stock flywheel with the new pressure plate. I got the 13" upgrade that came with a newer style pressure plate from valair. I didn't compare the two when I pulled them, but I was told that the bolt pattern was different for the 3400# pressure plate.

I am very happy with my valair clutch by the way, I don't regret saving the money I did at all. I also don't hook to a sled with my truck, and I didn't buy a clutch that was built for that.
