getrag 360 oil

getrag 360 oil

i am wondering what oil i should be putting in my getrag? napa told me to put ATF +3.

Napa lol

5w30 is THE oil to use.

I use 5 qt of 5w30 Synthetic.

You should NOT use 90 weight in the Getrag!

Factory calls for Full synthetic 5W30 motor oil. Fill it through one of the top PTO cover bolts....you'll be able to get more oil in through that hole.

That's what I'm running. My truck was about 1.75 quarts lower than It is now. 5 quarts easily fits in there if you go in through the pto cover bolt hole.

I went this Walmart's finest 5w30 synthetic. I think it was $17 for 5 quarts...but it's certified, so I doubt brand matters...unless we're talking Amsoil, but that's a totally different playing field than Mobil1 or it's ilk.

yeah 5 quarts seems to be the amount thats agreed upon to be a good amount.
