gears and tires

alright i ordered up some 38" super swampers about 3 weeks ago and there still not here, butt oh well, anyway i am wanting to know what gears would be good for this set up? to keep the gear and tire ratio to what it would be like for my stock tires and gears? so on the highway i dont have to revv it out and it stays at stock rpms., what do you think will work?

that gear ratio clculator will tel you what rpms you will run at a given speed but it wont tell you how it will take off.

hmmm thanks for the info i was thinking it would be around there, but somewhere else i looked they told me 4:56 but thats to low for me, i think ill just do 4:10's sinc ehtere more common and in the winter can throw my "pinners" on and not have to red it as hard on the highway

I've been thinking about going from 3.55s to 4.10s with the 35s I'm running...that's if I end up keeping the truck, it's up for sale now.

hows you truck right now with the 3.55s and the 35's? does it feel any different as of less power or more pedal to go?

I would be willing to trade you a good set of 4:10's for your 3:55's if they would swap between a 1991.5 and your 1993. My email is jdcvdc@mizzou.edu
You would be best off to email me if you are intrested as I may get busy and forget to recheck this thread. Jon

I definitely noticed a loss in power/ more pedal to go when I went from the 255/85s to the 35s and the power seems to be decreasing slowly all the time...I think she needs a new torque converter. I would do the tranny first and then decide if I want to go lower on the gearing.
