GDS HC1 turbo upgrade

I ordered stage 2 60mm one yesterday from them and I asked if I had to have my backplate machined andthey said no a new one with enhanced mapwidth slot comes with it. Is there any difference between this and the one from HTT? as there is a $152 difference between them.

I am pretty sure the GDS stage 2 is the same as the HTT stage 3. The HTT stage 4 needs a different backing plate.

It must be the same as stageIV as he told me I didn't have to have any machining done, the new backplate comes with it as its just bolt in set.

You are probably going to get a wheel and compressor housing. It will use the same backing plate.

I got the GDS stage 2 kit and you were right it is the same as the HTT stage 3, no backplate with it and an 8 blade wheel. I called to see if I could return it for the one that needs the housing machined and this time got to talk to their turbo guy. He told me I could if I wanted but both have almost identical mapwidth and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference performance wise so I am just keeping this one. I have a question of anyone who has this compressor housing though, will a turbo elbow from a hx35 fit this compressor or do I need to get one from an hx40?

First off, he is right about the GDS 2/ HTT III being "good enough." The bigger wheel is not worth the extra money, if you need more air than the 2/III upgrade provides you flat out need a new turbo and you shouldn't be wasting money upgrading an H1C.

Anyway, to answer your question: The elbow for an intercooled H1C will bolt right up. No special parts required, bolt it on and enjoy.

Glad to here it from someone who has waisted there money on it already. lol

I was thinking about the Stage IV, but I guess the Stage III will be fine.

What mm is my turbo stock now and what mm is the Stage III? Is the whislte louder than stock?

You should have a 54 mm, the Stage III is a 60 mm.

All the HTT/GDS upgrades whistle nicely.

Does a stage IV sound different than a stage III?
