Gauges installed.

Well, finally got them in and working. Autometer (I have used this brand 10+ years why change now) boost, EGT, trans temp and tach. Took it for a quick spin. Nail it and I get 13 lbs of boost which drops to 10 as the rpms increase in each gear. (back pressure?) EGT's will go up close to 900F. So, its all stock so now I can start bombing. Taking the muffler off this week.

As for the install. It's a 1991.5 so I got the boost source off the intake plug. As for the egt probe install I had my 4 drill bits ready (small pilot hole up to tap size) bits ready so I fired up the truck and let it idle as I drilled. Took 45 seconds and the exhaust pressure blew all the chips away. It went really quick.

Now I have to set the Tach. What is the best way?

Thanks Guys!!!!

I used a hand-held optical tachometer to determine RPM at idle, then adjusted the screw on the back of the gauge until it jived.

If you don't have an optical tachometer and don't know anybody that has one, then I don't really know how you're supposed to do it right...

Hey.... I am new to this site and need some info.

91.5CTDBanks ......... Where did you get those pillar pods you have your gauges installed in ?

I have not been able to find any for the Gen 1 trucks such as ours. I want to install Boost, Pyro, & Fuel Pressure....... maybe 1 more..... and the pillar pod seems like the ticket.

Any help locating them will be appreciated......

Thanks,
chuck

PS..... This is a great site.......
