Anyone know where the fuseable link going from the alt to the battery is ? Its on a 90 dually.

 

on the left side inner fender, between the battery and the hood hinge, is a rubber block with five fusable links coming out of it going into the main wiring harness. (the other side of this block is about a 4 AWG black wire coming from the battery) The big fat green FL is the one to the alt.

 

Do you know what all those wires go to??

 

bruiser, they each go to a "row" of the fuse block... i believe 1 or 2 go directly to the fuse box and the others go through the ignition switch. if you look at the back of the fuse box you will see one wire that feeds a brass strip that in turn feeds on section of fuses. if you have a bunch of different acc. dies at one. look to see if they are all on one link. if so then trace it back and repair the link.

 

Well dang .. this may just be my problem... 2 of the wires shown in that pic are cut off and missing..

 

if its got a powr contr module, first check crank sensor,located at balancer. if thats not it replace or check pcm.

 

the big green one is from the alternator, the orange one on the bottom I think is for the hazards, two of the other ones are feeding the ignition switch and then one of those feeds the AC as well, and the other one also feeds the engine controller. the last one feeds to the headlight switch and associated stuff.

this info I got from looking at the factory service manual wiring diagram.
