Fuse Link Delete
Well, don't tell anyone, but I spent the day helping a local guy get his truck's wiring straightened out. Got rid of the fusible links. The PO had hacked away at it throughout the years and was an absolute rats nest to trace out and make right. Found this fuse block on a marine supply website. Has 4 midi fuse circuits and 6 ato/atc circuits. You only need 8 so leaves you 2 spares for security systems, square wave diverters, etc.
was able to complete the entire job without the use of snap-on tools. results may vary.

no kidding. I guess they were used to the truck and drivetrain both only lasting 100k miles.
also, as you can see, the safety hub module has that nice ground bus on the bottom side. when I do this fix on my 93, i'm going to run a good ground to that bus and then have a solid, reliable place to ground accessories in the future. it's really a nice unit. the inside of the cover has spare fuse holders too.

They are a bit pricey but look to be of good quality and everything I want in one place.

14/2 stranded to a push button for starter. Truck was a city of Miami truck for 24 years, that was some of their better work. I've been tasked with un-effing the wiring. Current owner is doing some really nice work on the truck, just not an electrician.

Besides the for mentioned romex, any plans to fix non OE approved non heat shrink, lack of main power feed hold downs and ratchet strap holding group 31 down!? Track will not allow this! Are we making torque or just putting around!?
I like push button starter, did you install a "dimmer switch" to use for starting?
I'll admit that is a super clean looking truck from the couple pictures you shared, any more?

I'm dealing with this headache now myself and I love this solution but... before I drop a ridiculous amount of money on this safetyhub150... where are the other circuits? Shouldn't there be a 60a fuse for the headlight switch circuit?? I'm wondering is maybe I should grab a maxi fuse for the alternator wire and then just put the alternator wire and battery wire on the same stud for the fuse box.

Just a thought. Does anyone make a black electrical tape that the adhesive doesn't turn to sticky slime after being in use a few years. I hate it when I need to undo something I covered with it and the sticky crap gets all over everything. I like to use heat shrink instead or just leave them bare and tie them up with tie-wraps.
