Full throttle vs part throttle
Full throttle vs part throttle
I have noticed that when I floor the throttle the truck does not seem as powerful as it does at say 3/4 throttle. It only makes 30 psi of boost at 3/4 throttle and 40 psi or so at wot so I must be fueling more but it does not seem to make more power. I read somewhere on another site that backing the high idle screw out can make the pump defuel at wot does anyone know if there is any truth to that? Maybe it is all in my head lol...

I would. And set it so it just kisses the throttle-stop at WOT (as worked by the pedal).
Revisit your throttle indexing and main fuel-screw settings to ensure you're getting the most out of it. (Throttle indexing first, then main fuel-screw (adjusting based on run-away)).
(I ran into this same issue).

I thought that the indexing always stays the same? How do I index it to make sure I am getting the most out of it? I thought when they were off a notch they are hard to keep running. Sorry if I seem dumb here but I am kinda lost thanks for the help though.
Either way, one can move the throttle indexing one tick this way, or that, and reset the main fuel-screw like you would otherwise (looking for just before runaway).
- To one extreme, you may be able to run the fuel-screw all the way in, with NO runaway.
- And the other extreme, run the fuel-screw in a lot less than before, and get runaway.
The latter of the two will get you more usable throttle range with maximum fueling.
David. Iirc you switched to the 3800 spring. Did you clip that to match the length of the stock spring like you did with the 3200 when you were running that?

When I put my 3200 spring in I did not clip it or change the throttle indexing. should I remove the spring an clip it? The throttle indexing is in the exact same spot it was when it was stock.
