Ouch. You could probably trade them for half a dozen treated 2x4s or 2 sheets of plywood right now.

@BHD I did not purchase.... only price checking. But yeah, can't afford to do lumber projects this year.

It's called "price inflation" which is actually caused by an increase in the supply of money which is "monetary inflation". The results of all those trillions of extra spending by the government. This is not a political statement just a fact.

It's definitely crazy out there right now, pricewise and otherwise...

BHD, I'm a big fan of the simple, plain steel wheels. That's what's on my W250, W200 and 1990 Corolla wagon. Would like to find sets for my KJ and XJ too. No bling here.

I hear you. The halting of our supply chains has made stuff triple and quadruple in price. When things cost more, there is more money to tax....

I agree 100%. That is exactly why I still have the same 1st gen truck I bought when it was 15 years old. I like simple, easy, plain, and common things.

I do auto repair work as a side job at my shop and I've had three 4th gen Rams that needed a "software update" in the last month.

The only "software update" my old CTD stuff needs is upholstery work!

Now that you have given a thumbs up on those fuel tank straps I'll definitely buy from him in the future. Thanks KRB!

This guy metal by charlie is also New Era Performance LLC, he has a "fakebook" account with a ton of pics located in PA I believe. Guy does some great restorations and retro mods.

Now that's a good one!

Looked for New Era Performance on the web but couldn't find it. I don't have that fakebook thing.

I'll try and compare them today, won't get a chance to install for awhile I'm afraid...

Just laying underneath and comparing new straps to old, they look like they will be a direct replacement and should fit fine.

So has anybody drained their fuel tank by pumping it out? I have half a tank of diesel in mine. Is it as simple as just sticking a hose down the filler neck and transferring? I assume there is a check valve or something to make it not that easy so thought I'd ask first...

There is a ping pong ball in a sort of roll over valve body, that will stop you getting a syphon hose down it. You can pull the lower filler neck metal part out of the tank itself and then get it mostly drained with a hose. Be careful the tank is not too full or it WILL get messy.

I have not had any luck down the filler neck; the bends are too sharp. I end up disconnecting it at the tank and then I can use a hose and pump.

Lowering the tank isn't too bad with two floor jacks.

I figured there was probably some sort of roll over valve. I'll just take off the filler neck. It's already half way lowered...

Many thanks,
