Does your fuel shutoff solenoid go out gradually or will it all of a sudden quit working? I have noticed a few times my truck when i shut it off it sounds like it runs alittle longer than normal. Just thought i would ask

you need the plunger to be sanded its most likley got pieces missing and it wont shut off right. i sanded mine and it worked till the thing smoked

 

Mine started gradually. I've got a manual tranny so all I did was put it in gear to get it to quit.
