A fuel leak the DOT said OOS

Yep Dot had me out of service for most of the day, but all is good now. On the head of the pump, in the center of the injector lines is a small bolt type deal(12mm head) with a copper washer on it. Well that copper washer cracked, and was spraying bad. I never knew it, never smelled it until we had to stop for an inspection. I guess the Bosch dealer we found said there is a timing adjustment in there??

Anyways he said someone really smashed her down, is it possible that it always was cracked but maybe not all the way through and from working her hard-it let loose? I have never touched it, nor has anyone else in the last 20k since I had it.

I guess you pull with your truck and thats why they pulled you in? I don't know why the washer would have just cracked all a sudden without anyone touching it

See `thats what I cant figure out too. I had no idea what it was for, and since it was running great-i hadnt touched it. What I think was someone cranked her down and either fractured it, or it started to crack, and either through pressure/vibration/me hammering on it decided to let loose.

I guess we will see. Yeah I run commercially for myself, and I was forced to go through inspection. when he stopped me inside the rest area, I guess it was running outa the truck pretty good. I honestly cant believe I never smelled it

I can't help with what caused the leak, but using a dial indicator and an adapter in that hole is the way to precisely set timing.
