Is this considered normal?

I dont know if this would be considered normal or not, so I need a little help.

I can mash it to the floor and instead of getting black smoke, I get the grey-ish smoke like a leaking injector on an idle. Is this normal?
The smoke looks like the smoke that you get when you start it up in the mornings. Not Black at all.
Thanks for any help/advice!

Gray smoke is normal on a truck that has enough air for the fuel. Turn up the pump and you will get all the black smoke you can stand.

Thanks Wanna,
I never knew that about the grey smoke, I guess I may have to turn the pump up some to get the needed black smoke

I get black smoke until the turbo spools, then it's a greyish haze (time for a hybrid). I also only had grey smoke until I ground the AFC lever and turned the full fuel screw a bit.

Once you've had black, you never go back.
