Fuel Cut Solenoid
Fuel Cut Solenoid
Ok so Im jammin' dowm the road after a 500 mile day
and I am 20 miles from my where Im going and my
truck sputters to a stop.

After some quick fiddiling around I came to the conclusion
that my fuel solenoid gave up the ghost. So out comes
the solenoid and out comes the pluger. All back together
minus the plunger and I am on my way....with a piece of rope tied to the manual cut out lever and hangin' out of the grille to shut 'er down. :

Well I price out the new solenoid. 230 at the dodge dealer, 140 at the cummins dealer, and 35 at the VW dealer (since the old VW diesels use the VE pump). Needless to say I think I
am going to at least try the VW part.

Just thought I'd share my little story to see if anyone has
any thoughts and pass along some info that might save a tow bill for some one.

Re:Fuel Cut Solenoid
I will be sure to post the number.

Since I have not actually made a trip to the VW dealer I am not sure that the parts dude actually looked up the right thing. I am pretty optimistic though.
